The Stand-In

Part 61 · role

The rule: For ten minutes, act the way the other one acts in bed. They judge the accuracy.

The Stand-In is one of the bed games with actual rules from our TikTok series (part 61). It needs two adults, one bed and nothing else. Below: how to set it up, how a round goes, how to play it at four levels from mild to extreme, the mistakes that break it, and three variations for the second night.

Setup

Both in bed, ten-minute timer, no audience. Agree on one thing first: this is an impression, not a review. Laughing is allowed. Taking it personally is not.

How to play

  1. Flip for who goes first. The first player is the stand-in; the other is the judge.
  2. Start the timer. The stand-in has ten minutes to be the judge — their moves, their words, their habits, their timing.
  3. The judge stays themselves and reacts however they normally would.
  4. When the timer ends, the judge scores the accuracy out of ten and names the one detail the stand-in got most right.
  5. Swap roles. Second round, same rules, new timer.

Four levels

  • Mild: Copy how they say goodnight, how they kiss, which side of the pillow they steal. Keep it above the shoulders.
  • Spicy: Copy how they start things. The first touch, the first line, the pace they set. The judge scores the opening only.
  • Hot: Full ten minutes, full impression, including what they do that they think you haven't noticed.
  • Extreme: Play the stand-in all the way through, to the end, the way they would finish it. The judge scores afterwards, in detail.

What breaks it

  • Doing a parody. A good stand-in is accurate, not cruel.
  • The judge breaking character to correct the impression. Score it at the end, not during.
  • Skipping the second round. The game only works when both of you have been the stand-in.

Variations

  • The blind audition: the judge keeps their eyes closed and scores from touch and voice alone.
  • The understudy call: the stand-in gets thirty seconds' notice at a random point in the evening.
  • The director's cut: after both rounds, each of you names one thing from the other's impression you'd like to keep for real.

The matched list

Every game on this page assumes one thing: you both already said yes to it. If you want the version where that happens on the screen first — each of you picks privately, the game only plays what you both chose — that's the TwoNite dare game. It runs in the browser on one phone, no account. The Stand-In works as a house rule on top of it.

FAQ

Is The Stand-In a sex game or a comedy game?

Both. It usually starts as comedy and ends somewhere else. The accuracy score is what keeps it honest.

What if the impression is embarrassing?

It's supposed to be a little. Nobody sees themselves clearly in bed; this is the closest you get to a mirror that talks.

Can we play it more than once?

Yes, and the scores go up each time. That's not a coincidence.
