Apps to Share Fantasies With Your Partner Privately (2026): How They Work, Compared

Most couples have a few things they'd like to try and have never said out loud. Not because the relationship is bad, but because asking "would you ever…?" risks a no, and a no can sting on both sides.

A small group of apps solves this with one rule: each of you answers in private, and only what you both said yes to is revealed. If one of you says no, the other never finds out it was even on the list.

This page explains the different ways apps handle this, which ones really keep your "no" private, and a free method with paper. Full disclosure: TwoNite is our app; it's one of the options below, and everything about other apps comes from their store pages (links at the bottom).

Three ways apps handle "what do you want to try?"

Approach How it works Does your partner see your "no"? Apps
Private matching Each of you answers alone; only mutual yeses are shown No Spicer (questionnaire, two phones), TwoNite (game, one phone)
Answer to unlock Each of you answers; once you've both answered, you see each other's answers Yes, after you both answer Paired, Coral
Ask each other One sends a dare, question or idea; the other accepts or declines Yes, directly Desire, Honi, most truth-or-dare apps

If the point is to avoid an awkward no, only the first approach does that.

Private-matching apps

Spicer: a questionnaire on two phones

Both partners install Spicer and link their phones, then answer Yes, Maybe or No to a long list of ideas. In Spicer's own words, anything answered No by either partner stays hidden, and when you both answer Yes or Maybe it becomes a match. It's well rated (4.6 on the App Store from about 3,900 ratings). Limitations: you need two phones; it isn't on Google Play (on Android it's an APK from Spicer's website or the web version, checked 12 October 2026); free questions are limited, with a subscription, a lifetime option and extra packs.

TwoNite: the same rule, as a game on one phone (ours)

TwoNite applies private matching to a dare game you play together in one evening. Before you start, each partner privately marks what they're into and what's off the table, passing the phone between turns; then you choose a heat level together, from Mild to Extreme. The game then only deals dares from what you both said yes to, so nothing one of you skipped ever appears. 2,000+ dares, five game modes, any couple (M/F, M/M, F/F), no account, no ads, on the App Store, Google Play and in the browser. The first game is free.

The difference from Spicer: Spicer tells you what you both like; TwoNite turns it straight into a game for tonight.

Kindu: discontinued

Kindu was one of the best-known apps of this kind and still appears in older articles. It has been discontinued: its website is down and it's no longer on either store.

Answer-to-unlock apps: Paired and Coral

Paired (daily questions and research-based quizzes) and Coral (conversation prompts, quizzes and guided intimacy exercises) both let you answer on your own, then show your partner's answer once you've both answered. That's great for conversation, but it isn't private matching: your partner will see your answer, including a no.

The free way: a paper yes / no / maybe list

You don't need an app to try private matching.

  1. Write 15 to 20 ideas together, from sweet to spicy, so neither of you "owns" any item on the list.
  2. Each of you takes a copy and marks every line Yes, Maybe or No, alone, without looking.
  3. Swap and circle only the lines you both marked Yes (and, if you like, Yes plus Maybe).
  4. That's your list for tonight. Put the rest away without discussing them.

The catch: when you swap papers, you see each other's "no"s. If that bothers either of you, use an app that only shows the overlap.

How to bring up the idea in the first place

  • Make it about the game, not about a request. "I found this game where we each pick privately and it only shows what we both want" is easier to say than "there's something I want to try".
  • Agree that a no needs no explanation. It's a filter, not a judgement.
  • Start low. Pick the mildest level the first time. You can always go up next time; going back down after an awkward moment is harder.
  • Don't negotiate the hidden items. The point of private matching is that unmatched ideas stay unmatched.

Frequently asked questions

Is there an app where couples answer privately and only see what they both want? Yes. Spicer does it as a questionnaire on two linked phones, and TwoNite (ours) does it as a dare game on one phone. In both, a "no" from either partner is never shown.

Does Paired show my partner my answers? Yes. In Paired (and in Coral), your partner's answer unlocks once you've both answered, so you see each other's answers. That's different from private matching, where only mutual answers are revealed.

Is Kindu still available? No. Kindu has been discontinued and is no longer on the App Store or Google Play.

Can we do this without an app? Yes: each of you marks a shared list of ideas Yes, Maybe or No on your own copy, then you compare and keep only the double yeses. The only downside is that you'll see each other's "no"s when you compare.

Is there a private-matching app for Android? TwoNite is on Google Play. Spicer isn't on Google Play, but offers an Android APK on its own website and a web version (checked 12 October 2026).

Do these apps work for same-sex couples? TwoNite lets each player set their own gender and orientation, so it works for M/F, M/M and F/F couples. For other apps, check their store listing.
