The Swapped Chair
Part 51 · role
The rule: For ten minutes you each play the other one's usual role in bed. No commentary until the ten are up.
The Swapped Chair is one of the bed games with actual rules from our TikTok series (part 51). It needs two adults, one bed and nothing else. Below: how to set it up, how a round goes, how to play it at four levels from mild to extreme, the mistakes that break it, and three variations for the second night.
Setup
Ten-minute timer, lights however you like them. Before you start, each of you says one sentence describing the other one's usual role. That sentence is the brief. No arguing with the brief.
How to play
- Each of you describes the other's usual role in one sentence. "You start it, you set the pace, you decide when it's over."
- Start the timer. Swap. The one who usually leads follows; the one who usually follows leads.
- No commentary. No "this is weird", no "am I doing it right". Ten minutes of playing it straight.
- When the timer ends, commentary opens. One minute each.
- Decide together whether the swap continues or the chairs go back.
Four levels
- Mild: Swap who starts the kiss, who holds whom, who says goodnight last. Small chairs.
- Spicy: Swap who gives the instructions. The one who usually waits tells the other what to do next, step by step, in words.
- Hot: Full role swap for the full ten minutes. Pace, position, who speaks and who doesn't.
- Extreme: Swap and extend: when the timer ends, the new leader decides whether the ten minutes become the whole night. No vote.
What breaks it
- Half-swapping. Leading with one hand and apologising with the other isn't a swap.
- Commentary before the timer. It breaks the chair. Save it.
- Describing the other's role as a complaint. The brief is a description, not a review.
Variations
- The three-chair night: swap at minute ten, swap back at twenty, then choose at thirty.
- The written brief: write each other's role on a slip and swap slips. Read it, then play it.
- The stranger's chair: play a role neither of you usually takes. Both of you are guessing.
The matched list
Every game on this page assumes one thing: you both already said yes to it. If you want the version where that happens on the screen first — each of you picks privately, the game only plays what you both chose — that's the TwoNite dare game. It runs in the browser on one phone, no account. The Swapped Chair works as a house rule on top of it.

FAQ
What if we don't have clear roles?
Everyone has one; you just haven't said it. The one-sentence brief at the start is the part that surprises people.
Ten minutes is short. Can we go longer?
Keep the first round at ten. Longer rounds are the extreme level, and they're earned.
How is this different from The Stand-In?
The Stand-In is an impression of your partner, scored for accuracy. The Swapped Chair is you, in their chair, with no score.
